GDK S.A. was founded in Salvador, State of Bahia, Brazil, in 1989 under the name Geral Engenharia Ltda. In April 2001, it has incorporated Damulakis, a traditional company in his branch of activity. By that time, the company has adopted the name Geral-Damulakis and has aggregated to its assets more than 45 years of experience and achievements in the Oil and Gas segment. Latter on, the company has opted by a new corporate brand and the company's name was changed to GDK S.A.. Along this evolution, it has consolidated its performance in the market of gas and oil pipelines construction and maintenance – both onshore and offshore-, industrial and oil and gas production facilities erection, petrochemical plants assembly and construction of offshore production platforms.

GDK accumulates an experience of nearly 60 years of history on services rendered and projects successfully completed. Its performance at the national and international markets can be assessed by the volume and complexity of contracts completed as well as by the investments on technology, professional education and equipment.
Today, GDK accounts for a work-force of over 5,000 employees within its administrative and operational units, who are integrated to permanent internal programs of re-skilling and upgrading for the development and application of new management and technological development tolls.

Safety, Quality and Environmental Management are values equally committed with GDK's operations, always aiming at keeping safety rates within the clients' demands and adopting a proactive attitude involving effectively all functional levels. The company is focused on materializing, in practice, its Health and Environment Policy in all projects under its responsibility.

Since the year 2000 the Company performs through its Integrated Management System – based on ISO 9001 (Quality System), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) and OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety System) Standards – assuring that the services rendered are developed in accordance to the regulating standards of the Ministry of Labor and ISO international standards, aiming at reducing accident hazards, and preserving the employees' health and physical integrity and the environment .

In September 2003,through the Certifying Organism DNV – Det Norske Veritas, it becames the first recertified company of the engineering and construction Industry in Brazil to operate with the Integrated Management System.

The company is a full member of IPLOCA - International Pipeline & Offshore Contractors Association, of ABEMI - Brazilian Association of Industrial Engineering, of Sobratema - Brazilian Society for Equipment and Maintenance Technology, and FBTS – Brazilian Foundation for Welding Technology, and it is registered with PETROBRAS and ONIP. |
